Broadcom Negotiations
VMware · Symantec · CA · Carbon Black · Mainframe · Brocade The buyer's report on Broadcom contract economics. Not affiliated with Broadcom Inc.
The Masthead · Who Writes Here

The Desk.

A small bench of buyer side negotiators, contract analysts and audit defenders. We work on live Broadcom deals every quarter. The byline below most articles reads "By The Negotiation Desk" because the work is collaborative and the names matter less than the contract that gets signed.

This is a working masthead, not a corporate org chart. The Desk is a small group of operators who spend most of their week inside Broadcom contract paper, audit notices and renewal models. We publish under role titles rather than personal names because the conclusions in our articles are tested on live deals before they appear in print.

Every person listed below has signed off on the editorial frame of this site. Buyer side only. No reseller arrangement with Broadcom. No partnership of any kind. Compensation flows from buyer engagements and from outcomes verified against signed contracts. Nothing flows the other way.

The bench

Lead · Renewal Negotiation
Renewals Lead
VCF · Symantec · CA · Mainframe
Runs the renewal practice. Owns the quote validator, the concession band library and the pre meeting briefing pack used on every active engagement. Background in enterprise procurement and post acquisition contract review.
Lead · Audit Defense
Audit Defender
Compliance reviews · True ups · Notice response
Receives the first Broadcom notice with the client and runs the response timeline through to resolution. Has handled formal compliance reviews across Symantec, Carbon Black, Mainframe and VMware in the past 18 months.
Lead · Benchmarking
Benchmark Editor
Verified against signed contracts
Maintains the unit price database that sits behind every quote validation we publish. Numbers come from signed contracts redacted by client. No vendor sourced figures appear in our benchmarks.
Lead · Portfolio Optimization
Portfolio Analyst
Entitlement audits · Right sizing
Walks the client through what is actually deployed against what is licensed. Builds the right sized renewal posture before the quote arrives. Often the first call on a fresh engagement.
Lead · Exit Planning
Exit Strategist
Migration economics · Posture shift
Models the alternative pathway. Not always to recommend exit, often to make staying expensive for the seller. Knows the migration economics of Nutanix, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Zscaler, Red Hat OpenShift and the major mainframe replacement vendors.
Editor · The Desk
Desk Editor
Weekly Live Desk · Field notes
Owns the editorial frame. Reviews every article and every Live Desk update. Holds the line on the house rules and the voice. The byline you do not see, but the one that makes the byline above readable.

How we publish

Articles on this site are short by consulting standards and long by blog standards. Each piece is fact checked against live engagements before it goes up. If a number appears in print, it has been verified against a signed contract. If a behavior pattern is described, we have seen it on at least three deals in the last two quarters.

We do not name clients. We use descriptors instead: a regional bank in EMEA, a Fortune 500 manufacturer, a federal agency. We do not name Broadcom employees or account team members. We do not publish numbers we cannot defend. When we get something wrong we correct it in the article and note the correction below the byline.

If you are a buyer working through a Broadcom renewal, audit or portfolio decision and want to speak to the Desk, the form at the bottom of every page reaches us directly. Two analyst calls are free. After that we tell you what we would do and whether we are the right firm. If we are not we will say so.

Correspondence Invited

Write before the quote becomes a position.

Two analyst calls. No pitch. We tell you what we would do, what the leverage actually is, and whether we are the right firm. If we are not, we will say so.
Who we work for. Buyer-side only. No reseller relationship with Broadcom. No partnership of any kind. We do not earn anything from products sold or renewed. Only from outcomes delivered against the contract.
